Natalie & Amir | Omni Bedford Springs Weddings

Ai yai yai…where do I begin with this wedding day? You got a bit of a peek into Natalie & Amir’s wedding day but there is so much to tell you about this day…for such a small wedding there were so many sweet little details.

First off you should know that Natalie & Amir are hopelessly GONE for each other. I mean sticky sweet, sappy, googley-eyed loooooooove. The kind that is rare but is like glue. I like that kind. 🙂 It all started with Natalie & Amir’s Rehearsal Dinner at Horn-O-Plenty in Bedford. If you haven’t been, you should go. This establishments simple interior and fresh fare is a real treat. It was a small dinner with maybe 25 or 30 friends and family and it was very mellow, just like Natalie & Amir.

The wedding day was no different. I loooooove being a fly on the wall while the gals are getting ready, and then meeting back up with John later because he’s with the guys getting ready and then we compare stories. Both Natalie & Amir take the cake for awesome love for one another. The whole time I was with Natalie all she kept saying was “I can’t wait to see him. I just can’t wait to see him. He is going to look so handsome in his suit. I can’t wait to see him.” Notice I didn’t say that Natalie said “I can’t wait for him to see me. I just can wait for him to see me in this gown. He’s going to flip when he sees me.” U-huh. Biiiiiiggg difference there, right? At one point I was walking around the suite looking for Natalie to see what she was up to and I found her on the deck, hair in curlers, sitting back and relaxing while writing her First Year Anniversary card to Amir. You see, she and Amir agreed to write these cards on their wedding day. How. Awesome. Is. That????? Then Natalie asked me if I took a photo of the perfume settled by her dress. No, but I can. I get a lot of odd requests so I didn’t think too much of it but I did think “Hmmm…ok” And she said “I bought a brand new perfume to be used for the first time on my wedding day so that every time I smell it, it takes me back to my wedding day.” Shut. Up. I love this gal. So then I meet up with John a bit later and he shows me this photo of Amir holding the strangest piece of wood in the shape of a heart. And John tells me this is Amir’s gift to Natalie. Ummmmm….ok. Then he tells me how much Natalie is connected to the earth, how salt-of-the-earth she is and to honor that Amir purchased this ooooooolllllllddddd and beautiful piece of wood and had it shaped into a heart and engraved with their initials and wedding date. So incredibly sweet. On a whim, Natalie wrote a little note to Amir on the day of the wedding and left it for him to see. He then flipped it over and wrote a note right back to her and left it for her. Gah!

And it just kept going on and on from there. The day was also the anti-wedding wedding day. Most weddings we cover are total chaos. Good chaos, like energy zazzled with fun electricity, but chaos nonetheless. Natalie & Amir’s day was so relaxed, so calm. There was no running around frantically to finish last-minute details, no craziness in the suites….just music, laughter and an energy of cooled calm. I loved it. All events in one building: Omni Bedford Springs…and if you’ve never treated yourself to the luxuries of this resort, do it. Do it now. You’ll also see a few photos from a Persian tradition called a sofreh table. This table is decorated with a variety of items, which is to represent the couple and their future. Prosperity, fertility, a bright future and sweetness are just a few wishes for the couple, represented by the items on the table. Amir is Persian and so his mother presented this tradition to Natalie & Amir, while also giving each of them a gift passed down from her family. It was very lovely.

And the reception was a blast. Period. Not only does Natalie & Amir have crazy-sappy love for one another, but they are also a card-carrying goofy couple as well. You’ll see what I’m talking about in the photos below. Natalie even said, while getting ready, “I don’t want to cry today. I don’t want it to be that way. I want to be like ‘OK! Let’s DO this!'” Right on, Natalie. And that’s exactly how the day went. Natalie only teared up for one brief second (so brief I missed it…dammit) while her dad was giving his speech. Pay special attention to all the first dances below. They start off slow and sweet and all of a sudden explode into jammin’ fun. It was quintessential Natalie & Amir.
