Cool as a Cucumber | Pittsburgh Boudoir Photographer

That’s what you need to be when you come in to see me. Maybe that’s not how you feel when you come in, but rarely do I have a gal not slide right into POW mode once the session starts. The funny thing is, almost all of the women that I work with seriously question whether they have it inside of them to rock a session out like a pro. The reality is, they bring it. Every. Single. Time. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a bit of work to get there. I’ve never photographed a supermodel so I know full well we have to work as a team to get out of you what is necessary to get the photos you want. But once they get there, it’s all downhill.

And this was no different for S. Wowza this beautiful young woman was a pile of nerves when she walked into the studio (as was visible by the hives on her chest, neck and face ;-)) I knew she had it in her. I knew she could kick this out with sass she didn’t even know she had. Not so sure she was so confident in herself, but once S reached down deep and pulled out what was inside of her all along, once she trusted me enough to let her walls down and let her powerful bad-ass self shine through…well…you can see for yourself, as you saw a bit of before.

Never doubt yourself. You got this. 😉

She blew me away! She was so timid and so nervous before she even walked into my studio….but then I just let Justine loose on her and she brings down the calm, the peace…the cathartic exhale…and then I’m left with a beautiful, cool, serene and ready-to-hit-the-ground running version of this gorgeous woman. Which is why we make such a good team. 😉

Finding Your Sexy Again

Ahhhhh…..I was just looking through the blog today to see how things are going and I realized I never followed up with Ms. K! Boy have you been missing out. You’ve seen a little sneak peek but I wanted to finally give you the full sha-bang.

Ms. K came to see me because, as she put it in the little film I posted a little while ago, she wanted to find that gal inside that’s been snoozing for a bit. She said she hadn’t felt sexy for a long time and wondered if she still got it. Ohhh my I love when women challenge me like that! Do you still got it? Do you still got it?? We ALL got it, dahlings….we all still got it. But I can’t tell you how good it makes me feel and how it just makes my year that when women want a boost, they come to me. Me. That’s so humbling. It makes me realize I’m likely in the right career path. 😉

Here is a bit of an excerpt from K’s original email inquiry to me:

“I know you are already booked solid for Valentine’s Day, but I am still interested in gathering more information for down the road when you have an opening. Work basically owns my life and I basically never get an opportunity to let loose. I am a fun-loving, girly-girl, but at work I have to be all-business-all-of-the-time. I’ve forgotten what it’s like to just celebrate being me. All of the photos on your website have something in common, other than all of them being absolutely amazing, no one looks like they’re forcing anything–they’re just absolutely beautiful and free…I want to feel that way and at least be able to have a photograph to remember it by when I’m drowning in work — haha….”

Girl, you came to the right place. 😉

Ms. K and I hit it off right from the word go. She was like a kid in a candy store every time Justine showed her a new look…I haven’t seen anyone that excited in a while! Again–check out the film and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I know for both Justine and me, it doesn’t get any better than making a women feel special, beautiful and sexy in the studio. Seeing the look on K’s face throughout the session was proof enough of that. And as if that wasn’t enough, I received this right after our session:

“I just want to thank you again for everything yesterday! I had such an AMAZING time that I really don’t know how to put into words. You and Justine are such an awesome team–you both are incredibly fun, wonderful women with extraordinary gifts! Thank you for making me feel beautiful and giving me the ability to tap into parts of myself that I haven’t seen in a long time. I am so excited for the reveal! 🙂

Thank you again!!”

Sometimes You Just Need a Little Reminder…

…about who you are deep down. That’s exactly what Ms. W needed when she came to see me. Ms. W was going to through an unexpected heartbreak but decided to keep her reservation with me anyway. I just love that. She wanted to know she was still sexy…and ya know what? Well…I think you know. 😉 Way to go Ms. W. You’re gorgeous, inside and out.

My ‘Lil Justini Cupatini

Well, you may only get 1 photograph today but I’d like to think it’s such a lovely photograph that it can easily stand alone.

This is my very very good friend, Justine. You  may recognize the name from almost every single shoot I’ve put up in the last 2 years. Justine has been my partner in crime with my beauty business and wow has it been a fun ride. 🙂 Justine recently got hitched and then decided to make their family of 2 into a family of 3. As of this blog post, Justine and her husband are getting used to life with a new, beautiful, healthy baby girl.

We decided last minute to capture a few photos of that belly and a week later, there was no more belly. I’m thrilled we were able to snap a few because when the pregnancy is over, it’s over!

And yes, I call her Justini (and most times just Tini….but I love the “cupatini” add on because it makes me think of a drink I’d be sipping on the beach while relaxing with my Tini).

All I Want for Christmas is….

Hmmmm….if only there were a romantic gift out there that a guy could get his gal. You know…something other than the traditional things like jewelry or perfume. Like, I don’t know, something that celebrates her as a woman. Something that makes her feel desirable, sexy and powerful. If there were only that kind of gift out there that a guy could get his gal….wonder where one might pick something like that up….

Just Be You | Boudoir Photography

Just be you. That’s my advice for every client I have ever photographed, no matter what type of photography. So yeah, sometimes that’s easier said than done when you’re the only one in the room wearing a red lace bra and undies set from VS. But, nonetheless, you have to somehow conjure that side of yourself that just allows you to have fun and make your boudoir experience all that you want it to be. As you can see R did a great job with this. She laughed, she giggled, she rocked out some attitude, she was coy and shy…no matter what, she let her emotions rise to the top and flow right out. It was awesome. This is exactly what made her Intimates Session so successful. She’s not a model, she was very nervous and she had the same exact insecurities about her body that all women do. But she put all that aside and just had fun. We both had a blast.

So, two things to remember here: 1. Every woman that walks thru my door is nervous and insecure, but every woman walks out feeling confident and empowered. And 2. Allowing your guard to come down and giving yourself permission to relax and have fun can have a huge impact on your session. So make that decision before you walk thru the door and I think you might be surprised at how fun an Intimates Session can be. 😉
