So listen, we’ve had some truly awesome, creative, over-the-top, simply beautiful weddings this year and wow do I feel blessed. I mean, truly blessed to have met and worked with each and every couple, the fun we’ve had and, being a girlie girl, the eye-candy I’ve had the pleasure of photographing this year has been a girl’s dream (the gowns, the decor, the florals, the smiles, hugs, fun and the downright grab-on-tight-and-never-let-go love)…but I want you to really take this one in. I can’t tell you all the work and decision-making that went into all the decor, all the concepts and every teensy weensy painstaking detail that went into this wedding.
What I love about my job is that I don’t know what my brides are doing with the style of their day till I show up. It’s like Christmas morning seeing all the whozits and whatzits that I know my brides and grooms and toiled over. And Stephanie just hit this one out of the park folks. I love that Stephanie & Dante chose a venue that has true style in a classic and elegant setting. The Mansions on Fifth has truly become one of my most favorite venues because it is so luxurious. The restored interior is enough to make you drool. Stephanie really took off with the restored Elizabethan revivalist and Tudor styles and stayed with that theme through all of her decor. She teamed up with the ever-so-talented April Mason, owner of Mocha Rose, and I was simply giddy with the results. Stephanie decided to go with the Dutch Still Life concept, which was a perfect fit for the restored decor of the hotel. Each table was bedecked with multiple and unique floral designs with florals set throughout the hotel. So romantic, so timeless…and all set off by linens from Mosaic. What I really loved was that each table was topped off by a love quote from a movie or famous person and that was a theme throughout the wedding as well. Even the food was art! Which is not surprising with this hotel. And bringing it all home was one of the most fabulous bands I’ve seen! A four-piece swing era band, The Smoke Rings (out of NY of course. ;-)) with such songs as All of Me, Bye Bye Blackbird, Dinah, Dream a Little Dream, Fly Me to the Moon, It Don’t Mean a Thing, and Till There Was You, they kept the dance floor packed all night. I loved that Stephanie & Dante kept the same theme even in the music they chose. It was like stepping back in time. And be sure to check out Stephanie’s entire ensemble. She rocked that dress…and of course hair and makeup by the fabulous Justine Lynn and her team at Beauty Justified.
It was romantic, lovely and a crazy-fun evening.
