Wow…I just stumbled over a feature we must have gotten on the online version of Pittsburgh Weddings Magazine. Though I was a bit surprised to see our work without anyone telling us the good news, I’m thrilled we got a chance to be featured!
If you have time, please stop by and take a peek! Andrea & Jeremy’s wedding was such a classic beauty of a day. The ceremony was held at the ever-so-lovely St. Paul Cathedral and the reception was at the gorgeous Duquesne Club.
So here I am going thru Amanda & Peter’s photos and I realized that I hadn’t had a chance to really talk about these 2 yet and I really didn’t blog anything about their reception yet. Well here we go!
Ok–so as you can see, Amanda had great taste! I love love love that she incorporated bright colors with everything: green and orange. Probably 2 of my most fave colors. Everything everywhere was so bright and so beautiful. You all know me…I’m a details girl and I was giddy with delight to see all the little touches that Amanda put into her day.
Amanda & Peter were probably one of the sweetest couples we’ve worked with. Seriously, you get these 2 together and it’s all smiles, all love and hugs, and some incredible moments frozen in time. Sometimes when a bride and groom does their first dance it’s a bit….scary for them. I mean, think about it: 600 eyes watching your every move while sharing what is supposed to be a romantic moment with your new spouse. Talk about pressure. Should you kiss? Should you stare lovingly in each other’s eyes? Should you avoid eye contact all together? Did I jus step on your foot? Sorry ’bout that. Well as you can see below, Amanda & Peter did not have any trouble. Giggles, kisses, sweet looks and tons of smiles. Holy cow these 2 made our jobs easy that day.
So let the sweet dancing begin…
And the sweetest Dad EVER giving a very sweet speech (loved this guy!!)
And then the dance that usually never fails to bring a tear to my eye…
And the tear almost reached the tipping point while watching them dance slowly together. Then…all of a sudden (insert tire-screeching here) the music changes and these 2 just start busting out moves!
Yes, that’s right: The Gorgeousness of Marcelle & David. Take a look at those photos and tell me you’re not nodding in total agreement with me on this. Yup.
Marcelle & David had an amazing outdoor wedding at Phipps Conservatory and it was truly just beautiful. And you may remember Marcelle & David from their awesome E-Session last year. This is the second time we’ve had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this lovely family and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to be there. We were so honored to have photographed Marcelle’s sister Nique’s wedding just 2 years ago (as well as their E-Session too!).
There is a lot to come from this but I just had to start it off with some photographs of the lovely couple. These photos were simply romantic to me and I wanted to share them.
And a big shout out to Lisa Shwallon for planning this amazing wedding! Terrific job Lisa!
I absolutely love the part of a wedding day when the bride and groom are getting ready. So much energy, so much activity. It’s one of my most favorite parts of the day. Since John takes the photos of the guys getting ready while I’m taking photos of the gals, it’s always a treat to get home and look thru what moments John was able to capture. And I’m never disappointed.
Eeeeeeeeeee! Yes, that’s me screeching with absolute delight with a new idea I have come up with to help you future brides and Intimates clients in your adventures. I’m so excited to share this with you!

What a great weekend for a wedding. If you were here in the ‘Burgh you might disagree as Saturday morning we all woke up to rain after having a few weeks of the most scrumptious Spring weather ever. But Mother Nature came thru and day turned out to be just lovely. And shooting at Heinz Chapel is always a pleasure.
So meet Michelle & Mike. Sweet couple, fun couple, loving couple…easy day. We feel like we’re part of Michelle’s family at this point. We photographed her sister Darlene and her husband, we photographed her sister Cindy’s wedding, her cousin JJ’s wedding, now Michelle’s wedding and this summer we’re also covering another wedding of a gal that was one of Michelle’s bridesmaids this past weekend. Can’t get better than that. You know if families keep calling you’re doing something right. So we take this as a compliment.
And this wedding party was seriously crazy. Don’t let their cuteness fool you here….those guys in the back that look so sweet and harmless…every single one partied till they dropped Saturday.
And here are the 3 gorgeous Vislay sisters. Isn’t it amazing how much they each have their own distinct look yet they also look so much like each other. It’s a head shaker for sure. No mistaking these 3 for anything but sisters.
Ahhh….moments. They make a photographer happy when moments are captured for a lifetime through the lens. As much as I love our creative portraiture (and I do I do I do I do) I love nothing more than looking back over a wedding and seeing all the awesome moments that you know the bride and groom are just going to go gaga over.
So here are a few of my favorites from Laura & Zack’s wedding. And yes, all are in black and white. For some reason I am drawn to color for portraiture, but for me moments seem to be better expressed in photography in black and white. Call me crazy.
OK–I haven’t even had a chance to touch on Patrice & Frankie’s wedding yet but let me say what a super fun couple this was. Everywhere I turned there was a smile, giggle or a funny moment. Both Patrice & Frankie are comical people and both had a great time hamming it up for the camera. And of course, both were so incredibly sweet.
I thought this was such an adorable photo. Patrice needed help getting her shoes on and with not a bridesmaid in site, her flower girls jumped right in to help.
Just so comical…
…and so sweet…
And here is Frankie. Equally as comical…
…and so sweet. Meet Nessy. You’ll hear a little more about this little friend later, but I will say she was probably the most honored guest of the day for Patrice & Frankie (check out that bow tie for Nessy).
Frankie…don’t be mad at me for posting this one! I had to! So daggone cute! And is it just me or does Frankie look like the long lost son of Sylvester Stallone?? Awesome!
Ahhhh…the details. The details. The details. The details. How you all know how much I love the details. Laura was a girl after my own heart. Not only do I love details, and Laura had so many lovely details, but I also love a girl that knows how to pamper herself on her wedding day. Laura made sure that her day was chock full of beauty, fashion and comfort. Yes, comfort. You can look like a million bucks and still be comfortable during your wedding day, as Laura has proven so elegantly.
First off, check out that amazing dress. It is so lovely, flowy and enchanting. I was so pleased to hear that Laura chose a gown that was designed by Eugenia Couture. Now, I love Eugenia Couture designs, they are truly magical, but what I love most is that Eugenia Couture is in Pennsylvania. Wouldn’t think such gloriousness could come out of the hills of good ‘ol PA. Well, you were wrong.
And check out the TOMS! Oh my yes. These shoes are all the newest rage and Laura was smart enough to bring these along for the reception so she could dance yet still be fashionable and comfy. Nice touch. I know that you know how popular these are right now…but did you also know that TOMS actually has a wedding collection??
So yes, the TOMS were for the reception but Ms. Laura did not skimp on the wedding attire. Oh Badgley Mischka, how I love thee.
And of course I love Heinz Chapel. We have probably photographed a million weddings there and it just never gets old.
