Happy weekend everyone…

Happy weekend everyone…

I think as I get older I see less and less tradition being passed down thru families at weddings. So when I get to be witness to some of the traditions that are still around to celebrate and remember I just love it. Even simple traditions like mom lacing up her daughter’s gown, the cutting of the cake and all the new and old coming together for one big emotional day. Perfection.
At Amy & Josh’s wedding nothing was held back. There was such an energy to their day. Amy was all smiles, all relaxed and really into enjoying this day with her family and friends and Josh as well. What a fun fun fun day it was. From the Bedeken, to the Ketubah signing, the Hora (soooooo fun, always) and the Mezinka Tantz (traditional dance of all the guests surrounding the parents of the last of their children to get married, which in this case was Josh, the groom).
See if you can pick out which is which below.

Goooooood morning everyone! So a little announcement and a little reminder. Just wanted to give a little shout out to my awesome husband and his upcoming “Pittsburgh at Night” photography exhibit being held this November 30th. It is a private showing for the members of Encores and I’m so proud/excited/thrilled for him! Way to go Love!

And a teensy reminder about our upcoming DSLR Beginner’s Photography Workshop and Glamour & Boudoir Photography Workshop. You can choose to attend the entire weekend and get loaded up with all the info from both workshops or choose to just attend one. Either way, we’d love to see you there!

Eek! So excited to share that we have been published again on Style Me Pretty (my mostest favoritest blog ever).
I know you’ve seen a lot from Carrie & Randy’s absolutely magnificent wedding day but please drop by SMP to take a look at our feature!
And by all means, please say hello and leave a comment. We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Ooooooh how I love to mix up clothing for glamour & boudoir photography. For some reason I’m not very risky with my own fashion and I don’t ever really step outside my comfort zone. I’m a comfy girl….I’ve finally mastered how to wear clothing that feels like I’m wearing PJ’s but not look like I’m wearing PJ’s (most of the time).
So being a bit more bold or mixing things up a bit with fashion for my clients seriously takes me back to my Barbie days. But now I get to play dress up with real, live gorgeous women. So my wardrobe rack at my studio is pretty full now (and my wallet empty). But coming up with outfits for my clients and trying new accessories to finish a look is really exciting for both me, my stylist (Justine the Fantastic) and the client. It sets a high-energy tone for the day…which is awesome. Hmmm….3 girls playing dress up with not a care in the world…such is the life.

And finally….the incredible reception from Carrie & Randy’s wedding day. You’ve seen Carrie getting ready, the beauteous wedding ceremony in the Hall of Sculptures at the Carnegie Museum and the romantic portraiture….now you get to see all the fun!
Carrie & Randy hired Studio E for their band at their reception and they really kept the night going. And I have to say…for those of you teetering on if you should hire a DJ or a band….there is just something about a band at a reception. The energy is different, the excitement is more sizzling and truly it’s a real treat for your guests. We love when we walk in a see and live band because we know it’s going to be a good night for photography. And as you can see, Carrie & Randy’s reception was no exception. The dance floor was PACKED all night long. I have no idea how many elbows I got to the rib cage but it was worth it!
