Sarah & Graham | Pittsburgh Wedding Photographers

Yup. A little more from Sarah & Graham. My intention was to put up a few photos from their portraiture and then bombard you with their fabulous reception at The Pennsylvanian but then I went and chose a ton of portraits. So the reception can wait till next week!

I love Mellon Park for portraiture because you can always find a space where the sun works for you. Outdoor wedding photography can be difficult for portraiture because it’s typically at a time when the sun is high in the sky, which usually causes shadowing and hot pockets of light in some areas while others are shaded (think standing under a tree with the sun right on top of it). But Pittsburgh has all sorts of gems of locations where you can get what you need. Mellon Park is such a place. The glow behind Sarah’s veil in this first photo is proof of that.

We also took a quick trip over to the Smithfield Street Bridge for a bridge shot, as you can see. This is probably one of our most popular photo spots ever. Fine by me…you can see why.

Sarah & Graham | St. Paul Cathedral Weddings | Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh has so many glorious churches. They are so beautiful and so historic but I never tire of St. Paul in Oakland. It is one of the most majestic churches in Pittsburgh and the dramatic architecture, coupled with the light colored stone and many windows, combines to make the perfect equation for gorgeous photos. Good light + beautiful architecture.

I’m looking forward to sharing Sarah & Graham’s reception at the Pennsylvanian but for now take a look into their wedding ceremony. It was beautiful, touching, funny and very personal.

Caroline & Trapper | Wedding Photography | Morgantown, WV

What a gorgeous weekend it was for a wedding! Caroline & Trapper had a lovely day (that started off with some miserable rain but ended with gorgeous skies) and were thrilled to be a part of it. I’m just getting thru the photos to see what we have but wanted to post a few of the lovely couple during the beginning of their day. Looks like Barbie & Ken, right?? How adorable!

Oh Happy Day | Wedding Photography | Pittsburgh

Yes! Happy day it was…just a little sneak peek today. I’m out of town for part of the week but will be posting a teensy bit here and there.

It was a gorgeous day on Saturday and I have lots of fun stuff to share with you from Sarah & Graham’s wedding but for now you can bask in their cuteness.

Eeee! The season is about the kick into high gear. Love it, have missed it, am ready for it.

This is when a couple falls deeper in love than ever before (and will not fall any deeper in love till they hug their new baby), where people dance a little more free, Grandma puts down the cane and boogies the night away, smiles are bigger, laughs are deeper, Dad hugs his daughter a little tighter, Mom glows at her son, friends reunite, big sisters chase little brothers, sons jam with moms, dads toss kids around…it’s when the YMCA is actually cool and even priests get down on the dance floor.

It’s happiness, love, joy, chaos…it’s when you think you can’t fit one more ounce of glee inside your heart for fear it will burst, even just for one glorious day.

Bring. It. On.

Lara & Barry | St. Paul Weddings | Pittsburgh

Boy…St. Paul Cathedral just never gets old for me. It’s so majestic! And ya know what made this particular ceremony with Lara & Barry so special? Barry’s brother was the priest presiding over the ceremony! Awesome, right??

What a beautiful couple! Lara just couldn’t quit smiling all day and as you can see she had one heck of a beautiful smile. It was such a pleasure to capture all that joy in one day…

Oh you know how much I like the time in a wedding day when everyone is getting ready. *sighhhhh*. So much energy, so much laughter, a sprinkling of nerves…all good stuff.

So this is Lara & Barry….one of the warmest, endearing, sweet and lovable couples we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Right from the beginning they made it crystal clear that whomever they chose to work with on their wedding day was not staff, they were family. And they weren’t lying. Hugs all around, giggles, smiles, conversation….we were never left out of a thing and it was wonderful to be a part of it all.
